Join us for a conversation where we drive awareness around the diversity of parenting journeys, talk about navigating LGBTQ+ topics with kids, and discuss how to encourage acceptance in many different ways.
Lynne Tracey is the first female President of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) and has extensive experience working with not-for-profit boards. She is also the proud mother of four children, one of whom is trans. Lynne wrote the article “Our 18-year-old Daughter was Born into a Male Body”, which was published on the Irish Times in 2018, and she now sits on the board of TENI (Trans Equality Network Ireland). She became a huge transgender advocate in Ireland and happily shares her experience and learnings from her own journey.
Bella Fitzpatrick is the Director at the NGO ShoutOut – a community of volunteers and activists committed to improving life for LGBTQ+ people, by sharing personal stories and educating school students, parents and guardians, teachers, youth workers and workplaces on LGBTQ+ issues. Bella is our subject matter expert on how to frame the LGBTQ+ conversation with kids.
Dil Wickremasinghe is a broadcaster and journalist living in Ireland. She founded Insight Matters, a mental health support service which supports the mental health of over 400 clients a week. Dil speaks from experience while talking about the importance of mental health, connecting the dots between LGBTQ+ parental support & mental health.
Shiran Aharon brings perspectives on same-sex parenting and its challenges. She shares views on how to organically approach a conversation with our kids on LGBTQ+ topics.
