Felipe Calderón’s 2011 Commencement Address

June 12, 2011 – At Stanford’s 120th Commencement, President of Mexico Felipe Calderón drew on his experience with fighting for democracy in Mexico as a boy and as President to encourage graduates to never stop fighting for their ideas and dreams, and enjoy their beautiful journey through life. He also called on the graduates to design solutions and public policy to aid in the fight against poverty and global warming. Calderón stated that in the future, he hopes graduates will “find the happiness that comes from being congruent with the values you believe in and to live according to your ideals.”
